In response to COVID-19 affected the country, Cristosal implemented an electronic alert mechanism to receive complaints of human rights violations caused by the state’s response to the pandemic.
Cristosal expects that the mechanism used during the emergency to receive online complaints will become a permanent resource to capture cases of human rights violations.
Through this new mechanism, complaints may be submitted for reference to the PDDH (Human Rights Procurator's Office) or for the knowledge of Cristosal. Through this tool, Cristosal supports the pursuit of justice primarily for vulnerable groups.

Enfoca.org is an effort by various organizations to record and analyze data related to the protection and promotion of human rights in Central America.
The goal is to convert the data collected into public and interactive information that is available to anyone interested in learning about the situations of vulnerability suffered by the Central American population, as well as to serve as a reference framework for researchers, human rights defenders, and decision makers, among others.
Stories turned into statistics
The Observatory is made up of various institutions of the Central American Triangle (Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador) that work to strengthen the protection for the human rights of various vulnerable populations in the region, such as children, adolescents, youth, indigenous populations, women, and the LGBTIQ+ population, among others.
The purpose of the Observatory is to document and disseminate information on human rights violations, emphasizing the importance of collecting, processing, and analyzing data in order to have reliable information that facilitates the development of public policy proposals and programs aimed at serving the needs of vulnerable groups and individuals efficiently and effectively.
One of the most relevant objetives of the Human Rights Monitoring System is to make the information collected available in such a way that users can interact with it for various purposes. This data collection has allowed us to create a space in which the data collected on registered human rights violations can be organized by subject and by year.
The Observatory provides constant monitoring of human rights violations in order to provide timely and accurate information on the causes and effects that these violations have on vulnerable populations. Fed by data from state institutions, civil society, and international cooperation, the publications strengthen the efforts being done to protect and promote human rights in the Northern Triangle of Central America.
