For these reasons, the State does not recognize forced displacement in El Salvador
The Minister of Justice and Public Security, Mauricio Ramírez, said that they do not agree to call the phenomenon “internal forced displacement” because the characteristics are not configured; however, he described the situation as “serious” and as a phenomenon that is caused by a “complex and multi-causal” situation of violence.
