On the first of May, 2021, the Legislative Assembly, which has recently been dominated by an absolute majority by the party Nuevas Ideas1 (NI) (Benítez), decided to remove the main and secondary magistrates of the Constitutional Chamber (SC) as well as the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR) in an unprecedented act and simultaneously substituted them for other individuals.
