New witnesses from El Mozote will testify before the judge after months of waiting

The case of El Mozote and nearby places has been awaiting justice for more than 20 years for the thousand victims tortured and murdered between December 11 and 13, 1981, in Morazán. The process had been on hold since the beginning of last June due to an appeal by the defense lawyers of the accused ex-military men, but it was finally rejected. This week new witnesses, relatives of the victims of the largest massacre recorded during the Salvadoran armed conflict, will come to testify before the judge in the case.
